How green are CWS Windows and Doors? Link here to Cardinal Glass' brochure on climate change and glass efficiency. By changing out your old windows to energy efficient LowE2 coated windows, you can make a difference in the total US consumption of energy.
3 REASONS FOR PURCHASING CUSTOM WIND-PACT PLUS:
1. The invisible energy appliance. Not all Low E's are the same. CWS offers Cardinal Low E2 coated glass on all impact windows and doors. Low E2 is twice as efficient as regular Low E. CWS also uses a high performance PVC 16 air chamber frame for energy efficiency and strength. The corners are welded to reduce leakage and increase strength.
2.
3. No tilt windows. The Wind-Pact Plus windows purposely do not tilt in. CWS windows are designed to be the strongest and safest window for clients to operate. Non-tilt windows are stronger and safer. The average weight of a tilt in impact sash is 35 pounds! Ask us about the bucket test!
QUESTIONS TO ASK OTHER WINDOW MANUFACTURERS:
1. What are your windows tested to? CWS is tested to Dade protocols - PA210, PA202 and PA203. The most stringent in the country. The window or door MUST operate after impact - even an impact to the sash. ASTM testing allows a 3" hole in the window and the window or door does not have to operate.
2. What is the coating on the window? CWS uses only LowE2 on their impact windows - twice as efficient as regular LowE. The energy savings of LowE2 is a solar heat gain of 37 versus 72 for regular LowE. The energy savings is up to 30% a year with a 3-5 year payback on the windows!
3. Do they have 16 chamber, aluminum reinforced, welded joint PVC frames? CWS is currently available in White and Adobe - with Bronze coming soon. Don't forget about the double lift rail that CWS windows have. This is a great advantage for windows behind couches.
4. Where are the windows manufactured? Who were they designed for?
5. What layer of glass is the LowE tint applied to? The 3rd layer is the MOST efficient for our
